Teaching others how to experience a Peaceful Spot in the brain

This is an educational program, which means that whatever you learn, you can turn around and teach it to others.

The actual teaching of how to transmit the Peaceful Signal is covered in the training. Everyone in the group will get the chance to experience how this works from both sides, receiving and transmitting. After each person learns how to do this exercise, your role will change from teaching to support. You can enhance the value of how well you can do this by understanding some rules of energy dynamics and the kind of difficulties you will encounter as you seek to make this ability stick for the other person.

    —–

Basic Principles of Energy Dynamics

  • When two or more people pay attention to you, some of their energy is in your energy field. Just like any math equation, when two fields exist in the same space, the strength of the field in that area increases proportionally.
  • When you increase a person's energy field you also increase their ability to feel things in and around their body.
  • The energy that leaves your body does not respond to will power or concentration. It is activated by curiosity.
  • The easiest way to bring back most of your energy into your body is to lower your eyes as if you are looking at your own chest.
  • When anyone in the room knows how to do an energy task, this information is transmitted into the entire room, making it incredibly easy for others in the room to reduplicate that task.
  • The ability to have a new chi-energy experience is just to show you what is possible. For you to actually master it requires repetition (practice).
  • Activating your awareness of energy is the same as activating your intuition.

Can anyone learn to have this peaceful experience?

You cannot force a person to experience this peaceful state. Your job is to provide the environment to make this possible. Even if you feel that the Peaceful Spot is activated in another person, it's not your call to insist that it's there. The person who is exploring the area of their brain with their consciousness must be willing to have the experience.

Just like you can ignore ambient noise or ignore what you don't want to see, we have the option to ignore what we don't want to experience. It may not make a lot of sense that someone will not want to have this experience, but consider the dilemma some people have. If they open up to this possibility, it can open them up to all kinds of sensitivity which they might not be able to handle. Some people sense this possibility and they have a right to decline exposure to more sensations and stimulations.

While most people experience the Peaceful Spot, some have said that they only feel an "empty space." An empty space also has a desirable effect, because it has no stimulation, it's like a timeout from stimulation. When a person tells you that they experience an empty space, ask them to give you the dimension of the area. Also ask them how far do they have to move away inside their brain from that empty space before they are not able to feel it.

Living in the Now, the lesson that never ends

To be not only a good teacher but a great teacher of energy you have to learn the trick of understanding Sequencing and treating each experience as if it's totally brand new. You learn to compare how the current experience of what you are doing is the same as before, how it is different, and how much it has changed since the first time you experienced this particular action. To fully appreciate where you are now, it's important for comparison to know where you came from.

Sequencing

There is a condition that is described as "being frozen" in a memory. We see just one picture from a trauma. To fully understand how to help someone who is frozen in one image practice breaking up all tasks into a sequence of actions. When teaching someone how to experience these techniques it's vital to see the whole thing as a series of steps.

Here is an example of an action:

"I assisted a person in having an internal experience of the Peaceful Spot."

Here is an example of sequencing:

  1. I became aware of my physical body.
  2. My focus changed to be aware of the person I was assisting.
  3. I moved my focus into the center of my own brain.
  4. I caused an activation of the Peaceful Spot in my own brain.
  5. I physically looked at the other person.
  6. I became aware of the center of their brain.
  7. I transmitted the peaceful signal to the other person.
  8. I proceeded to give the other person directions about how to have their own peaceful experience.

At first you may have to pay attention to each step but once you learn how to do it there is an even flow to it. Just like learning to shoot hoops, or play the piano, it takes practice and repetition, but after a while your success in scoring is effortless.

Why you have to practice

In an interesting program on an NPR radio station, a man who used to be blind was given an operation that restored his eyesight. The man said, "When I first started to see I couldn't tell the difference between one face and another. Every person's face looked the same. Over time my brain figured out how to develop its own language and I started to see facial differences."

This was an important statement because it emphasized that we need to allow the brain to develop its own language for doing a task. Just because we are able to do something when shown, that does not mean that our body and brain have learned how to do it instinctively. Both mental and physical repetition allows the brain to develop its own method so that eventually it becomes instinctive. After your brain learns them, the action takes place without effort.

A good teacher knows how to be a good student

My goal in developing these techniques was to provide a paradigm of equality.

In this system, the person who teaches also allows the other person to transmit a signal back to the teacher. In other words, the roles are reversed, and the teacher becomes the student. When another person's energy enhances your own energy, it allows you to turn your attention inwards. This helps you study not only your own physiology on a feeling level, but it also allows you to sensitize yourself to your own chi-flow so you can learn how you can influence its behavior.
