A chi-energy method for helping with Shakes and Tremors
Healing Through Understanding

If you suffer from shakes or tremors and would like to see an energetic solution we have developed some processes that may be of assistance to you.

The following are stories how I learned to consciously create twitching and shaking in my body, how to stop it and some interesting people and situations that provided me with insights on how mind body connection works through the medium of chi-energy.

It was while working as a residential counselor in the mental health field that I became fascinated with shakes and twitching, which were exhibited by the clients. I formed a theory that the reason for the shakes and twitching was caused by an excess of chi-energy going through the human body. The question was, "How do you prove that."

I started practicing with the face muscles. I noticed that those with perceived power over others, when they became upset with subordinates and did not want to show it, a muscle in a part of their faced would start twitching.

At first I would move some chi-energy to a part of the face than I would try to simulate a twitch. I noticed that the part of the face where the chi-energy was at became more sensitized, in other words I was more aware of feelings in that part of the face. To twitch the sensitized are of the face all I had to do was have a desire to move a muscle and a twitch would happen. I would practice face twitching in my spare time and while I was successful at this it required a lot of work and concentration with no apparent benefits.

One day I stumbled on the realization that the initial twitch could be treated like a virus. Once the face twitch started that feeling could be easily moved to another part of the face making the twitching faster and easier.

Also listening to music enhanced ability to twitch. Now I not only had the ability to twitch but I also had an act. Linda Clave was part of an art exhibit featuring a multitude of artists at a bank in downtown Boston. Along with the art exhibit artist friends were asked to come up with an act as part of the showcase. I volunteered to do face twitching during the performance.

Sitting on a huge blue rubber ball, with my eyes closed, I was too nervous to keep my eyes open; I twitched to some far out improvisational music. The show was a success, people must have liked what I was doing because members of the audience would come up and take pictures of my face twitching.

My next project was to see if I could make the muscles of my arms twitch. Just like the muscles of my face I practiced twitching my arm muscles in my spare time. There was no apparent success outside of the fact that I could do it. Once I forgot to practice for several weeks, when I started to twitch again my arm took on a life of its own. My arm was vibrating like a string of a musical instrument.

When I stopped the arm twitching I was confronted by another challenge. The twitching did not want to stop. I could feel the vibration wanting to spread to the rest of the body. Fortunately I knew how to create calming energy in my chest. I figured that if one type of energy virus could create twitching another type could create it's opposite.

When I felt the calm energy vibration in my chest I then moved it to the rest of my body and it worked, the twitching stopped. During the stop I felt a strange quieting vibration in all the nerves of my body. This seemed desirable as if I was hyper stimulating my nervous system.

Of course I took this ability and tried it on stage at the Open Air Theatre in Somerville. I was part of a multitude of artists and performers doing a benefit for a children's fun. Some people freaked out when they saw me twitching to music. One member in the audience asked, "Why would you do something that most people would do anything in the world to get away from?" My response was, "Because I know how to stop it."

It was great knowing I could stop twitching. Too much drinking of coffee, if I started feeling shaky I would send some calming energy to the parts that were shaking. I'm not sure having the ability to do this is a good thing but since I've mostly stopped drinking coffee it's no longer an issue for me.

The Woman Who Twitched Her Head
Part of the job as a residential counselor was getting training of what to do when a client becomes violent. During one such class of handling violent clients I noticed a woman's head twitching in a very unusual way during the training. If you were to move your head toward your right shoulder and then back up to a straight position at a hundred times a minutes or faster you would see what I saw. If you tried to do this consciously you would hurt yourself and probably do all kinds of damage to your neck and spine. I knew she was only able to do this through the same method as I used in twitching my face and arms.

The next part was to show her how to stop it. "Excuse me," I said to the woman when we were taking a break, "I noticed you have an unusual shaking of the head." She told me that she went to all kinds of doctors to find out what was causing her condition but unable to get an answer. I said to her, "I can stop your shaking just by putting one of my fingers on the back of your lower spine." She was suspicious but also curious, she said, "Go ahead and try it."

By this time I knew that the areas between the disks of the lower spine held very happy and vibrant chi-energy patterns. All I had to do was tap into this energy and cause it to effect her body. This was actually my first attempt and I suspected it would work but I wasn't sure. When I placed my finger on her spine, I started to move it gently from side to side. This movement would force the person to pay attention to what they felt in that area and in this fashion allow the signal there to move throughout the body. One second the woman's head is vibrating back and forth and the next second it stopped moving.

Instead of getting, "Oh thank you!" I got, "My husband has six different things wrong with him and he's always picking on me. If I didn't have this head-twitching problem I wouldn't be able to get out of the house."

Later on during a lunch break I mentioned to the woman, "I noticed that your twitching also stopped when you were eating pizza."

Mental Health Client with Uncontrollable Twitching
This occurred at an early part of me working as a residential counselor in the mental health field before I understood anything about how twitching occurs. The group home had a male client who I was told, "He's not mentally ill, he's got this terminal shaking condition and he's here because his family can't afford any other type of treatment for him." The client made no attempt to communicate, he would hold on to objects as he moved in and out of his room, coming out of his room only to eat or drink something. Every one of the staff felt sorry for him but none of us knew how to help him.

One time as he was eating breakfast I felt him stiffen as if to stop his twitching. What I saw amazed me. His attempt caused the shaking to stop but it also bent his wrist sideways, the way individuals with muscular dystrophy have their arms bent sideways.

Client with Twitching Due to Medicine
As an energy worker you get asked to assist others with problems that conventional methods cannot help. I was asked to help a relative of a family who was having a difficult time. The help I provided had minimum success. As I was leaving the woman asked, "Can you do something for my shakes?"

She showed me how her hands were shaking, a side effect of the medicine she was taking. As I looked at her I could see acupuncture meridians vibrating, which resulted in physical shaking. I touched one of the meridian points and I said to her, "Relax, just allow the shaking to stop." It did not work so I said, "Allow just ten-percent of the shaking to stop, now another ten percent. Miraculously the twitching stopped.

I summarized that this worked because the woman let down her expectations which causes another dilemma, just how much do expectation get in the way of healing. I was told by one of the relatives that later the shaking returned. I expected no less. I have to continuously fix shaking in my body whenever it starts and it would take a person determined to stop shaking to learn to how to do this.

I've learned that if a part of my body starts shaking I have to take direct action and stop the area in the body that is producing the shakes or it will spread. Not everyone has the skill or determination to learn how to be energy conscious, but if you do have the skill or determination, you can make this work.

Shaking Due to Overwork
If you had a box that could monitor chi-energy just like you could monitor the electricity running through a wire you would see that the faster the person wanted to move the faster the chi-energy would vibrate in the body.

One of my former supervisors, all you had to do was look at her hands to find out how important the project assignment was going to be. If a lot of work had to be done that day her hands would start shaking, if we had plenty of time to get the job done her hands were calm and still.

Shaking on Stage
The first time I ever went on stage to try it out as a standup comedian, as soon as I stood in front of the microphone my whole body started shaking and I was almost drooling. The audience loved it but you can't make a living on stage as a comedian just shaking, you also need material. Next time I was more prepared when I went on stage unfortunately wasn't working so I started shaking and drooling. Now that I understand the mind body connection and how chi-energy comes into play to affect the body I can make appropriate correction.

What I have also learned is that uncertainty will cause an overflow of chi-energy in the body causing the body to shake. This uncertainty also causes a weakness in the legs which can cause a person to fall down. But how do you define uncertainty? If you can't tell when you are uncertain, take a cue from your body. If you feel your feet weaken that's a strong indication of uncertainty.

The easiest way to deal with a weakness in my feet is to say to myself, "Two plus two is four, or the color of my house is green." Saying anything that is a fact, that is a certainty will stabilize the shaking.

Also, the energy of the audience of one or more people paying attention to you increases chi-energy flow and if you throw uncertainty into it, "How will this turn out?" the shaking will start.

Shaking of Fingers
There were several occurrences in the mental health field which caused me to wonder how the mind-body connection worked. A client would be standing around and for what appeared to be no reason a spontaneous asthmatic attack would occur. One second the skin of the face was clear and the next all kinds of veins would be popping out and the client would be complaining of breathing difficulty.

One client who was autistic and had what appeared to be limited communication skills kept shaking his fingers in a non-stop fashion. When I asked him why he was doing that he said, "I don't know I just have to do it."

When you become sensitive to chi-energy you also become aware that if you point your finger at someone chi-energy will start leaving your finger in the direction of the person you are pointing at. The shaking of the fingers can create a lot of energy release, which implied that the medication he was taking caused an increase of chi-energy which shaking of the fingers of the hands to alleviate.

Often you will see people sitting with their legs moving back and forth. This movement has the same effect as shaking one's fingers. It's also a way to create body sensations which can calm your mind.

Shaking During a Church Service
There was a news program on TV that showed a church where people went to laugh as a way of worship. Once one person started laughing, the laughter like a yawn would cause others to start laughing. The other noticeable phenomenon in some churches is a shaking of the body during prayer.

When individuals held their hands up I would notice an increase of chi-energy in their body and this resulted in the whole body shaking. Once one person started shaking it was easier for other people to have the same experience. This type of shaking is not considered a problem, it's considered a spiritual experience. Again, attitude comes in to help calm the twitching after the church service stops. This may not happen for several hours but it does happen because you like the experience.

A good way to create calmness in church is to put your hands in a prayer form and you will feel a peaceful energy going through you. If you know this you can switch from shaking to calmness of the body faster.

Often sacred sites, places that have a large volume of energy going through them will cause a person to shake uncontrollably. People often speak proudly of this experience as something that affected their lives in a positive way.

Body Jumped
While doing research on twitching on the internet I came across pages where people would say, "I was sitting in a chair and all of a sudden my body jumped up in the air without any apparent reason. It scared me. Does anyone know why this happened?"

When I described how a small piece of energy caused a muscle in my body to twitch I also described how the whole body would jump if enough energy entered it. Some groups, such as TM (transcendental mediation), have created a phenomena where they seem to be levitating. The members of such groups sit with their legs crossed. When a burst of chi-energy enters them their body jumps into the air giving an appearance of flying. If the body jumps because you do not like it you may feel panic and a sense of being traumatized, the same experience with you liking it and you are filled with pride.

How does this work? Chi-energy is leaving and entering our body at all times. Chi-energy coming into the body comes into the nervous system first and through the nervous system it affects the muscles of the body.

At a party it was pointed out to me that a woman there had an unusual problem. Her head would drop as if she was falling asleep and than her body should jerk awake. She did this at such a fast rate that she did not fall down. It was a wonder she could function like that.

Many people have experienced such jerking when they almost fell asleep. Actually you do fall asleep for a microsecond. As you fall asleep your energy is released from your body, when you catch yourself falling asleep your energy returns and you feel your body jerk itself into wakefulness.

Chi-Energy Teacher and Twitching
I was fortunate to have met a Chinese energy teacher who was flexible in his teaching approach. I said to him, "Look I don't need to be your student but I do need some information. I'll be happy to pay your fee if you will just answer my questions." When I asked him to show me how he brings in chi-energy into his body he extended his hands outward with palms open and fingers pointing toward the ceiling. As he did that his hands started shaking.

Twitching as an Art Form
Knowing how to fix something consciously takes a lot of work, you can't just pop a pill and the problem goes away. I know I have some understanding of how twitching and shaking works that can be of help to others but I feel first I have to get people's attention. I feel I have enough control of the twitching of the muscles that if I had a sensor to pick up the vibrations and turn the signal into sound I could play music with it. So far I have not been able to find a sensor that will do the job.

My reason for this is very simple, by creating a biofeedback system those that have problems with shakes or tremors can see the degree of control you can develop if you study the mind body connection works through the medium of chi-energy.

The Opposite of Twitching
I feel it's important to mention a phenomenon where body parts move by themselves. An example of that is your arm lifting by itself. When people practice certain chi-kung exercises they consciously learn to have their body move through the influence of chi-energy. This is a calm flowing chi-energy that moves the muscles slowly instead of jerking.

One person freaked out when I showed him how to do this exercise. Loss of control was such a traumatic concept for him that he could not emotionally deal with it. Others, who seek to do this consciously are very grateful to learn how to do this.

You actually do not loose control when your body moves by itself, you are actually directing chi-energy to create a mind-body connection, some people spend their whole life to learn how to do this. According to Chinese medicine, directing chi-energy creates health within the body.

Healing Through Understanding
If knowledge is power learning how chi-energy works to affect your life has got to be a good thing. Knowledge is also about developing the understanding of what you need to make your life work.

Get to know yourself and you can stop living with a stranger.

Inner Exploration Process
We emphasize techniques to increase self-awareness and how energy affects our physical, emotional or spiritual state.

This is an eduational process.
